Would I recommend this book? YES.

Vic knows her role in life - to keep her little brother safe from those who took their mother from them. But when witches finally come for her brother to train him in their school, Vic has to find where she could possibly go when she's failed in her one task- to him safe. With no magic of her own, what is Vic to do?
How much did I enjoy this book, you ask? A WHOLE LOT. I have to admit that I'm pretty picky when it comes to my reviews of books. I'll read something that's not written really well if I like the characters and the story. I won't, however, necessarily rate a book like that very well.
We Who Have No Gods by Liza Anderson is a strong 4.5 star read. The story and character development are well thought out, there's great foreshadowing, excellent tension and an excellent lead-up to our (of course) cliff-hanger ending that makes me really want the next book RIGHT NOW. Not only is the story stellar, Liza Anderson's writing style is lovely. She drew me in to the world and had me snared. I couldn't put this book down.
If you're a magical girl like me and want a book to give you hope that you might still find yourself in a magical academy, you need to pick up this urban fantasy. It's witty, charming, and fast-paced. The female main character is a major badass, and the potential love interest is the perfect morally gray grump. You really can't go wrong.
There is very limited romance in this book, but I expect it to increase over the series. I'd rate spice 1.5/5. Overall I give this book 4.5/5 stars.
